2026 Year of Fire Horse Workshop
Workshop Description
Create a horse-themed ceramic piece in this fun hand-building workshop. Choose between making a horse plate using slab-building techniques or sculpting a horse figure by hand. Once your piece is formed, you’ll decorate it with colourful underglazes. A creative and enjoyable session for kids and adults alike. Available Dates (March 2026): 7th , 8th, 21st and 22nd Available Dates (April 2026): 4th , 5th, 18th and 19th Time: 10:00am OR 1:30pm Duration: 2 – 2.5 hours Age: 7+ (Participants 7-9 years old must be accompanied by one paying adult) Special Price: $65 (discounted from full-price of $95 until end of April 2026) Please note: ☼ Finished pieces will be ready for collection in approximately 6 weeks ☼ Shipping available Australia-wide: • 1–2 items: $16 • 3–4 items: $24 • 5–6 items: $31 (Standard parcel post)
Booking Policy
1. Booking and Payment • A minimum of 2 people is required for a wheel throwing session to proceed. • Payment will need to be paid in full at the studio prior to starting the session. 2. Cancellations & Refunds • Workshops: Please advise of any cancellations at least 2 days prior to the workshop by sending an email to ceramics@austrasiaculturalcentre.org.au • Private / group bookings or events: Specific cancellation terms will be shared at the time of booking. 3. Studio Etiquette • Please arrive before the commencement of the session so you don’t miss any important instructions and/or demonstrations. • For the purposes of safety and cleanliness, food and drinks are not permitted in the studio. • To protect everyone's hard work, please do not touch the ceramic pieces that are on display. • Be mindful of sharing tools and equipment with other workshop participants. 4. Safety & Conduct • Closed-toe shoes are required at all times. • Tie back long hair when using the pottery wheel. • The studio reserves the right to step in or pause participation due to unsafe or disruptive behaviour. 5. Materials & Equipment • Please use only approved clay bodies and glazes, unless permission has been given beforehand. • If you’re unsure about how to use any equipment, just ask — we are happy to show you. • Slab rolling machine must be operated by instructors. 6. Collection & Storage • We’ll let you know when your work is ready for collection. • Please collect finished work within 60 days of being notified, as our storage space is limited. • Uncollected work may be donated or disposed of after this period. 7. Finished Work & Expectations • Ceramics is a handmade process — variations in colour, texture, and finish are part of its charm. • No refunds or remakes are offered for aesthetic outcomes or natural firing results. 8. Children & Minors • Children must be supervised at all times. • Participants 7-9 years old must be accompanied by one paying adult 9. Photography & Promotion • We love sharing the creativity that happens in our studio and may photograph your work for documentation or promotion. • If you don’t want to be filmed during the class, please let us know. 10.
